El proyecto Archivo Histórico Minero pretende crear el mayor fondo documental del mundo sobre minería – investigar, buscar y catalogar imágenes, documentos y todo tipo de información posible sobre el sector – tejiendo una red social internacional en internet, integrada por colaboradores activos que irán construyendo el fondo con sus aportaciones. El objetivo es implicar en su desarrollo a particulares, asociaciones, ayuntamientos, sindicatos, empresas y administraciones, y en definitiva a todos los actores directamente implicados en los territorios mineros, para poner toda la información a disposición de investigadores, entidades y público en general en internet.
